Where does the blame lie?
In the latest episode of ‘Chat with Chapz’ rather than the usual deep dive into the latest game, ‘Chapz’ looks at the problems both on and off the pitch which have resulted in the lions being 21st in the league with only 4 points keeping us out of the relegation zone.
The debate has rolled on since the damaging defeat on Wednesday night, whether the board, Joe Edwards, the players or a combination of all 3 are the main cause of issues surrounding the club. Chapz points out and goes into detail on;
– The boards lack of nous in the transfer market which has seen us struggling to recoup any transfer funds over recent times and lack of investment in the playing squad
– Joe Edwards and his struggles to implement the style of football he wants to with the group of players at his disposal (and seemingly unable or unwilling to change from that style)

– The worrying statistics that have led to the lions slipping further down the table including one that has gone on over 16 months!
– The worrying form and ability of the playing squad, specifically Jake Cooper, Matija Sarkic and the curious case of Alan Campbell
– The lack of experience in key areas across the club’s management and recruitment teams
Plus, much much more!
The underlying message and tone from Chapz, is one of deep concern and worry that this will be our last season in The Championship, Joe Edwards is perhaps the right manger at the wrong time and there’s substantial evidence and reasoning as to why we are in trouble both on and off the pitch.
Do you agree with Chapz? Is there any one area/individual that deserves take more of the blame right now? Is there any hope left for the lions?

Mate totally agree team not playing with heart and passion Sardis worst keeper ever costing us goals week on week sloopy play in the back line then the adventurous play going forward 2 things what ever we creat bring no end product then we find ourself so far up the pitch we are caught cold Ipswich 4 shots on goal 3 goals and the penalty us Zilch
Edward’s out of his depth
Transfers either injured players or low quality brought in our scout must the biggest joke
Board James Berelyson could se all the good work his father did explode in his tenure !
Fans being taken for granted by all the above !!
🤷♂️🤬🤬
The problem lies with bad goalkeeper and the defence do not know how to handle the system Edwards is trying to play. This style needs the players to be much closer to each other going up and down and across the pitch so that they can keep possession of the ball and not give it away on to longer passes.
Has recruitment been poor? I dont think so, The players brought in are decent players in fact at the start of the season I felt that Gary had the best squad he had had during his four year term. The one position where we were lacking is Centre Forward but lets face it that has been the case since Stevie M was in his prime. There was a large percentage of the fan base that were pressing for attacking football instead of the backs to the wall tactics employed during the last decade. Well this is what we are trying to do currently. Will it all come together before the end of the season. I dint know but it will be a close call’ I think you need to look at Luton they were unbelievably poor for a number of years but they took a long time to rebuild.
Having taken the decision to change our style we need to give Joe a chance but it might not happen this season
Manager is inexperienced and inept no matter what happens he will stick with his method as he knows nothing else. Had 2 games managing English youth team and lost both. Current performance shocking but style needs to change. Sadly that will only happen if we change the manager. If we wait we go down and then he will go under his own steam to avoid the inevitable consequences of damage to his reputation right now he can say it’s down to the players couldn’t play like 18 year olds
See my comments above. POOR POOR POOR defence. They have no idea. Relegation here we come. S W are so together with their passing, they are so tight in little triangles so can pass the ball without losing possession.
Sorry Joe but out of your depth currently, needed target man upfront for years didn’t get one, your system does not change but your rotation of players does (way to much).
No direction from touchline that is visible.
Try 442 pack middle with Mitchell, norre, Saville, honeyman, centre forward Fleming then Bradshaw or adaimo off him. Back 4 Danny or Brooke
, harding(hutch if fit), Cooper (who needs to be more verbal) and Joe or Murray.
Goalie give it to Bart he has experience. Give them 4or5 games constantly
The other lads Impact players.
We need points.
Manager? Maybe experience for safety until end of season.
