Millwall Boosting Squad with Potential Signings of Duncan Watmore and Oliver Burke

Millwall Boosting Squad with Potential Signings of Duncan Watmore and Oliver Burke

As the January transfer window draws to a close, rumors are swirling that Millwall Football Club is set to make two significant additions to its squad. The first is Duncan Watmore, a former Sunderland player who has been making waves with Middlesbrough this season. Although this move is still very much a rumour at this point.

The second player in the mix is Oliver Burke, who spent the second half of last season on loan with Millwall and is now set to return, this time on a loan deal from German club Werder Bremen. Burke made a big impact in his short time at The Den, scoring two goals in 14 appearances and showing off his pace and power as an attacking force. The Scottish international is set to undergo a medical today as reported by Richard Cawley on twitter and if all goes well, he’ll be back in a Millwall shirt before you know it.

With the transfer deadline rapidly approaching, fans will be holding their breath in anticipation of these potential signings. Watmore’s pace and versatility make him a real danger in the final third, while Burke’s power and athleticism have already earned him a place in the hearts of Millwall supporters.

Nisbet to the Rescue: Scottish Striker Set to Boost Millwall’s Promotion Push

Millwall Football Club is on the verge of signing Hibernian striker, Kevin Nisbet. The 25-year-old Scottish international is known for his goal-scoring abilities and has impressed this season, scoring 7 goals in 6 Scottish Premiership games. The clubs have reportedly agreed on a transfer fee, and the move is pending a successful medical examination and the agreement of personal terms.

Nisbet’s arrival would be a huge boost for Millwall, as the club looks to climb the table and push for promotion to the Premier League. He would be seen as a direct replacement for Benik Afobe, who recently joined Hatta Club on a free transfer. This would be Millwall’s second signing of the January transfer window and would add further depth to the squad.

It’s worth noting that the transfer fee for Nisbet will reportedly make him the highest ever transfer fee record holder for the club, which shows the level of commitment and ambition that Millwall has in bringing in a player of Nisbet’s quality and potential. It also demonstrates the club’s intention to compete at the highest level and to bring in players who can make a real impact on the team’s performances.

It’s also worth mentioning that Nisbet had a knee injury in February 2022, but since then he has made a successful return to action and has been in excellent form. His impressive performances this season have shown that he has fully recovered from his injury and is ready to take the next step in his career.

If everything goes to plan, the transfer could be formally completed soon. Millwall fans will be excited to see Nisbet in action, as he is a proven goal-scorer with a wealth of experience and quality. With Nisbet’s arrival, the club’s attack will be strengthened and it will give them a real chance of pushing for promotion to the Premier League.

Millwall set to lose Charlie Cresswell with Leeds “increasingly likely” to recall defender

Charlie Cresswell’s Millwall loan is set to be cut short.

The defender arrived at Millwall in the summer on a season-long loan deal and has yet to become a mainstay in the Lions’ first team this season.

The defender has played 15 times in the Championship this season and scored four goals, two of which came against Stoke City on the opening day.

Leeds’ reporter for The Athletic, Phil Hay, is now reporting that the Elland Road outfit will look to recall Cresswell with interest from other Championship clubs who could perhaps give the central defender more game time.

Cresswell featured heavily at the start of the campaign but Gary Rowett’s decision to switch from a five man defence to a four has seen Cresswell’s game time reduced as the manager has preferred the seasoned partnership of Shaun Hutchinson and Jake Cooper.

Millwall could be set for another January departure

Millwall could be set for another January departure with the Lions set to part ways with George Evans.

Reports suggest that the midfielder, who has struggled for regular game time in the last two seasons, could be in line for a move to fellow Championship side Huddersfield Town.

Evans joined Millwall from Derby County in January 2021. He has made 53 appearances for the Lions and scored two goals since his arrival.

The former Manchester City man has played just 49 minutes in the Championship this season and has not been part of the last two matchday squads in the league. He featured in the 2-0 defeat to Sheffield United in the FA Cup on Saturday coming on as a 76th minute replacement for Danny McNamara.

Evans has not started a league game for the Lions since the 22nd January 2022 – a 1-0 defeat at Blackpool.

He has not made a start in any competition this season since the 1-0 defeat at Cambridge in the first round of the EFL Cup in August.
