The 25-year-old has scored six goals and notched up two assists in nineteen Championship games for the Millers so far this season.

Ogbene started his senior career at Cork City before moving to Limerick where he scored eight goals in 32 appearances.

The big move was to Brentford where he spent a season but was loaned out to Exeter City for the season where he made 14 appearances.

But in 2019 Rotherham signed the Irishman and he has now made 100 appearances for the Yorkshire based side, scoring ten goals.

In 2021 Ogbene made his Republic of Ireland debut and has scored three goals in ten games.

Millwall looking to get back to winning ways against Rotherham on New Years Day

Millwall take on Rotherham in the Sky Bet Championship on New Years Day.

The Lions are looking to get back to winning ways after drawing 0-0 against Bristol City last time out.

Andreas Voglsammer hit the crossbar in the first half and was unlucky not to give Millwall the lead but it ended goalless in the end.

The visitors lost 2-0 at Huddersfield Town in their last match.

They come into the game with one win in eleven but will be a tough test for Millwall on Sunday as the Lions look to get back into the play-offs.

Last time out it ended 1-1 at the New York Stadium – Zian Flemming scoring a wonder goal to equalise for the South London club.

MILLWALL PREDICTED LINE-UP: Long, McNamara, Hutchinson, Cooper, M. Wallace, Mitchell, Saville, Voglsammer, Flemming, Styles, Bradshaw.

REPORT: ROTHERHAM 1-1 MILLWALL

Millwall earned themselves a point against Rotherham at The New York Stadium on Wednesday evening.

The Lions are still yet to win away this season – a run that stretches back since March of this year when Millwall beat Reading 1-0.

The Millers were awarded an early penalty when Jake Cooper fouled their attacker before Dan Barlaser stepped up and just squeezed it past George Long.

Millwall reacted well to going behind and chances from Tom Bradshaw and Tyler Burey should’ve levelled the game – especially the latter.

But the South London club would get their rewards for a much improved last part of the first half when Zian Flemming nailed a strike into the top corner from 25 yards out.

That’s Flemming’s second goal of the season since moving to Millwall in the summer and he nearly had another when his free-kick hit the bar in the second half.

The Lions had a few opportunities to win it as Tom Bradshaw headed over from close range before he got on the end of a Flemming delivery only for his touch to go inches wide.

Overall, a much better away performance where Gary Rowett made six changes and moved to a 4-2-3-1 and Millwall now move on to a big Den fixture against Middlesbrough on Saturday.

PREVIEW: ROTHERHAM VS MILLWALL

Millwall travel to The New York Stadium to face Rotherham United on Wednesday evening.

The Lions lost 2-1 against Blackburn Rovers last time out – Jake Cooper scoring what turned out to be a consolation goal fifteen minutes from time.

The Millers were defeated 2-0 at home against Wigan Athletic on the weekend.

The Yorkshire based club are managerless after Paul Warne left for Derby County after six years in charge at Rotherham.

They could have appointed a new manager by the time the two sides meet as Matty Taylor looks set to complete his switch from Exeter City.

But it’s not clear yet if Taylor will be in the dugout on Wednesday evening – he instead may be in the stands.

The South London club are winless away from home this season and their last victory on the road was against Reading back in March.

PREDICTED LINE-UP: Bialkowski, McNamara, Cresswell, Cooper, M.Wallace, Styles, Saville, Mitchell, Flemming, Voglsammer, Afobe.
