Millwall were held to a 0-0 draw by Luton Town on Good Friday as neither team were able to find the killer touch in the battle for the play-offs.

The point leaves Millwall fifth in the table, two points ahead of the chasing pack, heading into Easter Monday’s clash at Hull.

It was a tight and cagey affair as you would expect with the two sides both right in the mix for play-offs.

Millwall had the games first effort. Some lovely combination work between Tom Bradshaw and Zian Flemming, the latter clipped the ball into Burke but the former West Brom man, was unable to find a way past Luton’s Ethan Hovarth whio was quick to smother the ball.

In the 18th minute the home side wanted a penalty, Bradshaw chased down Murray Wallace’s ball, it looked as if he was being pulled back by Hatters captain Tom Lockyer but the referee pointed in favour of a corner which Luton cleared.

Ryan Leonard forced Hovarth into the games first real save. His drive from outside the box was turned behind the post by the US international.

Luton remained a threat and on 35 minutes wasted a great chance. Elijah Adebayo firing a shot wide from a rather close distance.

Half time arrived with neither team able to make the breakthrough.

Wallace headed over Saville’s free-kick just before the hour mark as the game begun to open up.

It was a scrappy second half contest with both sides finding it hard to really trouble the other’s penalty boxes, in the 77th minute Voglsammer’s free kick drifted over the bar before George Long made a smart stop to deny Carlton Morris’ powerful effort.

Jake Cooper was denied two late penalties, both from clashes with Lockyer, however, the referee was not interested in either claim as the game finished goalless.
