Millwall MATCH REPORT: WATFORD 0-2 MILLWALL – AWAY DAY SUCCESS FOR THE LIONS

Millwall defeated Watford 2-0 at Vicarage Road this afternoon to move into the play-offs ahead of the 3PM kick-offs in the Championship.

The Lions hadn’t been in action since December 11 when they drew 1-1 against Wigan and that extra time off seemed to give Millwall plenty of energy.

In truth, the score line could have been a lot more after Daniel Bachmann made superb saves off Tom Bradshaw, George Saville but Andreas Voglsammer was the one who broke the deadlock when Bradshaw found him on the edge of the box.

The hosts were down to ten men just before half-time when Hassane Kamara shoved Danny McNamara to the ground following a Watford attack – an easy decision for referee Josh Smith.

As the second half got underway the South London club kept pushing for a second and were denied by the bar this time as Voglsammer’s deft chip couldn’t quite dip quick enough.

But that wasn’t to stop Millwall as Zian Flemming’s free-kick from the left hand side went all the way in and gave the Lions all three points in what was a very impressive performance.

Two games, two wins, five goals and two clean sheets against Watford this season. Incredible.
