Millwall’s under-21’s are on fire this season after another victory on Tuesday afternoon.
The young Lions beat Colchester United 4-1 at The Den leaving them second in Group B.
Abdul Abdulmalik put Millwall ahead after just ten minutes when he fired home from the edge of the area.
The visitors equalised soon after as Emyr Huws’ deflected effort wrong footed Trueman in the Lions net.
But it wasn’t long before Millwall were back in front as Chin Okoli’s header was parried into the incoming Nana Boateng who bundled it in.
The Lions got a chance to extend their lead when Nana Boateng was fouled in the Colchester penalty area.
Boateng got up, dusted himself down and struck the spot-kick home to give Millwall a two goal cushion going into the last half an hour.
The victory was secured when Esse sent Abdulmalik away clean on goal who’s deft chip rounded off a great afternoon and added a fourth for Millwall.
Abdulmalik had a chance for the hat-trick deep into injury time but couldn’t find the target as Kevin Nugent’s side triumphed once more.
