All of us at That Millwall Podcast are truly shocked and devastated at the passing of John Berylson.
John was a true example of an exemplarily owner who was loved and adored by everyone at the football club and we are all truly devastated by the news. The outpouring of love and support that has come from the wider football community since the news has broken has shown the massive impact that John had at Millwall football club.
At a time where relations between fans and owners can be strained like we have seen at other clubs in recent years, John demonstrated exactly how to communicate with the fans about the club and maintain huge popularity.
Under John’s leadership, we have seen great success. Two promotions, two FA Cup quarter-finals and a semi-final. Millwall Football Club has been an air of stability and consistency for the entirety of his ownership and everything he has done for our football club will never be forgotten by any of us.
John understood what it was to be a member of the Millwall family, he was never too busy to talk to fans or stop for a picture. He is a true legend of our football club and his legacy will live on for many, many years to come.
