PREVIEW: SUNDERLAND VS MILLWALL – LIONS CAN GO FOURTH WITH A WIN

Spread the love

Millwall travel to the Stadium Of Light on Saturday afternoon to face Sunderland.

The Lions are back in Championship action against The Black Cats and can go fourth with a win.

Gary Rowett’s side beat Preston 4-2 last time out, a Zian Flemming hat-trick and a Charlie Cresswell goal giving them all three points.

The hosts come into the game on the back of a 2-0 victory against Birmingham City at St. Andrew’s.

Below we got a view from Dan from A Love Supreme:

How have you found Sunderland’s season so far?

It’s been really good, especially considering we’ve spent most of the season with both Stewart and Simms injured. While some results have gone against us, the performance levels have been really good and we’ve put together some great moves.

Who are the players we should be keeping an eye out for?

Amad Diallo was on fire before the break, and he scored in our friendly 1-0 win in Dubai over the break. He will be a massive threat cutting in from the right. Jack Clarke is also a danger on the opposite wing.

What are your thoughts on Millwall?

There’s obviously the stereotype that you’re a big physical side, but I do quite like Gary Rowett. I was relieved to see your away form this season though, hopefully that can work in Sunderland’s favour…

Who are you worried about from The Lions?

Zian Flemming has had rave reviews but it’s Charlie Cresswell who worries me even more. Four goals from the back is no mean feat, and when you look at our squad the height difference will be crucial on set pieces, where Cresswell seems to thrive.

Score prediction?

I’m going to go for a 2-1 win for SAFC. Amad and Jack Clarke scoring for Sunderland after Flemming puts you ahead.
